Date: 1983 Comments: I really enjoyed doing the Madame Polly bits; I think they came closest in spirit to the defeatist type of humor I grew up watching on the show and that was a hallmark of Wallace & Ladmo. Polly’s predictions usually painted a pretty discouraging picture of my future, with lots of unfortunate events befalling me, apparently through no fault of my own. Thankfully, none of her many gloomy prophecies have manifested themselves in my life—yet. Still, I avoid entering sweepstakes contests and mint toothpicks; there’s no need to take chances.
