“This bit was ad-libbed from a suggestion I made that it might be funny to have Supe arm wrestle a puppet and lose.  This clip shows what pros the guys were.  My attempt to set up the bit is very weak, but once Wall steps in, the lines unfold as if they’d been perfectly scripted.  Pat is wonderful here, completely in character and utterly without qualms about working opposite a puppet.  You can almost see the sweat breaking out on his forehead as he “strains” against Polly’s “strength.”  I love the frantic movements Wallace does behind the “arm wrestling” action, and Ladmo’s “sports announcer” style commentary.”
